New Hope is turning 20 years old this month and we are going to celebrate on January 18!
As with all birthdays, we will have cake and blow out the candles. We are going to observe the other great birthday tradition: make a wish. Blowing out candles is a way of marking the years that have gone by. Making a wish points us to the future.
I need some help for both.
Help us celebrate New Hope's 20 years as a congregation by sending me an email (the link is on the right, below my picture) with two parts:
1. Blowing Out the Candles: Where have you seen/experienced God make a difference in your life or this world through New Hope? What have been some of the results? Who are the people (particularly non-staff) who have made a difference? What did they do?
2. Making a Wish: What is your wish or prayer for New Hope in the years to come?
Throughout the month of January (tomorrow!), I'm going to be sharing some of these responses in worship. If you'd like to remain anonymous, let me know. These can be as long as you want, but brevity is appreciated.
Twenty years isn't a long time in comparison to the 2,000 years of the Church, but its long enough to be a place for people to find a home, build a life and make a difference. Let's celebrate what God has done and let's dream about what God might yet do.
Send me an email, I'd love to hear from you.
