If you have been around New Hope on Wednesday mornings, you have no doubt bumped into a group of men who meet weekly and call themselves "The Old Guys Group" (that is one of the more charitable names they use for themselves!). An average Wednesday consists of about 45 minutes of checking in with each other, drinking coffee, sometimes solving global problems, and then they mobilize around the work that needs to be done around the church. Sometimes it is painting, changing out lights, landscaping, cleaning, or a hundred other things that need to be done. In the past couple years, we estimated that the "Old Guys" have save the church thousands and thousands of dollars in work we didn't have to have done by others.
This week was not a 'typical' week. There is a family in the community that was identified as needing a lot of help- particularly with their house. Mike Massine sounded the call and a whole group showed up this morning and is putting their time and talents to use to bless a family that could use it. While the picture quality may not be the best, you'll recognize many of the faces I'm sure.
